Canva design for social media, etc (review)

So check out this site https://www.canva.com/

Just to give a brief description, this site allows anyone with no design fundamentals to easily make coverphotos, wallpost photos, info graphics and any kind of visuals to post onto FB, blogs, or even for presentation.

Here are some samples that I have done with this site.

It does have watermark for most images which will require you to purchase them. On top of that the paid visuals are also limited in my opinion. Well, it really depends on your purpose of creating the visual.

Overall, I still prefer to learn photoshop or Illustrator from basic. This will not help noobies like me create better visuals, however an expert in design might find this site useful.

Google Analytics Academy review

I have been studying and completing the FREE online tutorial for GA fundamental over the weekend.

It is a very useful course to understand how analytics and data is used in digital to achieve business objectives.

This course also made me aware of how various departments in digital companies contribute towards business objectives. For instance, social have to work with IT programming team to make accurate data collection possible. Marketing and management team have to work with social team to identify business objectives and ways to achieve them through digital.

The course provides detailed explanation as well as good hands on examples where by we can put into practice what we've learnt. It will take up to 4 hours or more to complete the course depending on your familiarity with digital.

Dontalk Review

Annyeong All!

This is a pretty cool chat app I found online. Was watching Running Man episode 175 and saw them posting mission statements via Dontalk's pop message that will self destruct in few seconds after message is open.

Dontalk has several functions that makes it really awesome.

So far I've tried message recall, whereby if the recipient hasn't read your message, you can just delete it before they see it. However, if they have seen it you can't. This way you could also know if they have seen your message.

I've also tried the pop message which is super fun! Feels like mission impossible.. This message will self destruct in 10 sec... 9... 8 ... 7.... (you may set the seconds as you wish. default 1 - 30 sec, and manual any amount of seconds). You'll never get to read the message again. It's gone. Impressive!

Haven't tried the whisper function which allows you to send a secret message to one or some people in a group chat while leaving out the other person and they wouldn't even notice. This was what Gwang Soo did to Jung Kook in the same episode. Hehe..

I like how this app is super creative, however it's not very popular here in Malaysia and I had no friends in my contact list. I had to manually invite them to download the app. The link sent to my friends were in Korean and well, they will ask me "what is this?" and I will have to explain like as many times as I send out an invitation to use this app. I guess that is the only down side to this. Otherwise, when this becomes popular and well accepted, I don't think that will be a problem.
